This paper presents a theoretical and numerical investigation of a nonlinear thermoelastic system in n-dimensional space. Existence, uniqueness, stability and exponential decay of the associated energy are presented. Numerical simulations using the linearized Crank-Nicolson Galerkin method were established in one and two dimensions. Graphs and tables are presented, showing the optimal convergence order for different degrees of polynomials. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
