Treffer: QRGB++: App sustentable, solidaria e innovadora para aumentar la densidad de información acumulada en un Código QR
Weitere Informationen
The QRGB++ project involves the development of a QR Code application, whe-re the script or source code is written in Python software to utilize the RGB color system, generating a QR Code with increased information storage capacity, improved resource efficiency, and a positive environmental impact. This innovative method allows up to three times more information to be stored in the same space by combining three QR codes (red, green, and blue) into one, also improving data security through redundancy. In addition to optimizing the use of paper and ink (although the scanning system for reading printed paper has not yet been developed), this approach would potentially con-tribute to reducing waste, deforestation, and the carbon footprint in the future, aligning with eco-design and sustainable trends. Currently, its development is only intended for use and distribution in digital format. The QRGB code is generated using open-source libraries like qrcode[pil], Pillow, and opencv-python, integrating a graphical user interface (GUI) with Kivy to facilitate the creation and decoding of the codes. This technical accessibility promotes technological inclusion and the democratization of the use of advanced tools, allowing designers with basic programming knowledge to use them for free. Therefore, it is solidary and has been developed with an application example for the University of Palermo and its various links from the Faculty of Design and Communication.Developed with Python software as the script interpreter, it runs on the Visual Studio Code platform. After overcoming technical challenges with color blending, QRGB++ offers a significant increase in data density, with potential applications in security and high-density storage. Its use in social and educational projects improves accessibility for people with disabilities, fosters creativity and solidarity, and reinforces sustainability throughout the product’s lifecycle, demonstrating how technology and design can conver-ge to create a positive impact on society. ; O ...
